Bell and Barter Theatre
&
Cultural Arts Center
A Not-For-Profit Corporation
Home
The Bell & Barter Theatre and Cultural Arts Center is a
not-for-profit corporation started a mere 35 years ago (1972).
The Bell & Barter did some of the most amazing and creative
original works for the stage.  Wishing to expand the Bell &
Barter's creative arts programs, a local performing group was
invited into the theatre and with a new name change, the
Town Square Playhouse was born.

For the next twelve (12) years, the theatre flourished,
bringing great applause from their audiences.  But the
building fell into dis-repair.

Then along came a talented and most energetic personality,
Bud Masters. A life time resident of both Morris County and
New York City. Bud added life to this building with a lot of
cosmetic surgery as well as a property face lift, that
encompassed five years. What was originally a church built in
the 1800's, has now become the town of Rockaway
Borough's new shining star.

Along with starting out as a children's theatre. Bud plans
include offering many excellent arts programs. Introductory
theatre arts classes and the like staffed by in-the-arts
professional instructors.
